Triage Nurse | Dupage Medical Group | Winfield, IL
Provides professional telephone nursing utilizing the nursing process
and physician and organization approved telephone nursing guidelines in
a busy multi-physician Urology Department. Full time M-F days 8:00am
-5:00pm in Winfield
Essential Job Functions:
- Conducts telephone interviews and assessments of patients with
ongoing or potential, acute and/or chronic health problems. These may
include physical, psychological or cognitive problems.
- Explain medical terms and procedures to patients.
- Provide information regarding prescribed medications and therapies,
utilizing appropriate physician consultation.
- Identify patient, family, physician, organization and community
resources and assist patients in gaining access to these resources.
- Refer patients to physicians, other health team members, and
programs.
- Develop and implement follow-up procedures.
- Acts as liaison between physician office, in-patient setting, home
and community.
- Record, communicate and document data from telephone calls to ensure
a high quality of care, effective continuity of care and prudent risk
management for DuPage Medical Group.
- Maintain and enhance an up-to-date level of knowledge regarding
professional telephone nursing practice.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as required.
- Participate in professional development activities and maintain
professional affiliations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Performs related work as required.
- Must function as a team member to establish and maintain an
effective relationship with patients, physicians, and other departments
and customers.
- Must be willing to assist the office nurse when needed.
- Must accept constructive criticism from supervisor and follow work
and department policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Training Required: Graduate of an
accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of nursing skills in accordance
with nursing standards in the Nurse Practice Act. Urology expereince &
triage experience a plus
Experience Required: Prefer three years of professional nursing
experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred but may consider
a new graduate under specific circumstances.
Other Requirements (training, certification, licensure):
- Possession of a current IL State Registered Nurse License
- Current CPR Certification

- Education and/or Training Required: Graduate of an accredited school of
