Chemical Operator | Chemical Company | Henry, IL
Chemical manufacturer located in Henry, IL. We are seeking experienced
candidates for a highly skilled temporary chemical operator position.
Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. We are offering a $46.00 per diem and
hotel expenses are also covered.
This role is responsible for:
- Following established written procedures
- Performing job tasks with a focus towards safety, quality and
performance
- Working in a team environment with a positive attitude
- Controlling assigned chemical processes to produce and package quality
chemical products that meet customer expectations in a safe and
environmentally responsible manner
- Operating the Data Control System to monitor and control the process and
equipment
- Charging materials, pulling samples from reactors, connecting and
disconnecting hoses, and opening and closing valves
- Operating a forklift truck and other motorized/non-motorized pallet
handling equipment, including handling totes, drums, pallets of product,
super sacks, etc.
- Accurately completing calculations and paperwork
- Participating on the plant fire brigade and attending the other required
training such as confined space and Hazwoper
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in industrial manufacturing
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Computer proficiency required
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in a self directed
workforce
- Excellent attendance and work ethic
- Be flexible, organized and able to multi-task
- Willingness to work 6 days rotating shifts (12 hour); be adaptable to
change in working hours; work overtime as necessary
- Ability to trouble shoot processes and suggest improvements
- Ability to pass certification requirements, after training
- Knowledge of safe and environmentally-responsible operating procedures
- Ability to lift 55 lb bags, handles 110 lb lever packs, and lifts and
carries pails of materials, throughout a 12 hour shift
- Capable of climbing flights of stairs and ladders regularly
- Must be able to safely wear a respirator (no facial hair allowed)
- Possess strong computer skills to navigate systems and retrieve data
- Possess effective written, verbal and organizational skills
